Marta Santos -is a native from Bahia, Brazil. She came to the United States in 2000. Marta was a samba teacher in Brazil for about 10 years. She worked as a teacher in Salvador (Bahia) and Sao Paulo. Marta and her brother had a group of samba-reggae before she came to the U.S. Also she participed in the Carnaval of Brazil with others famous groups from Bahia. OLODUM, ILE AYE, GANG DO SAMBA, HARMONIA DO SAMBA and more. Marta loves to promote the Brazilian culture. Samba is her dream and her energy. Brazil is samba! Samba is Marta. Every year she represents the Samba Sacramento at the Carnival of San Francisco. In 2000, Marta begun teaching samba in the Sacramento area, and a year later she founded a group called SAMBA DA TERRA (Samba from our homeland).
